Biography

Dr. Rubens Siqueira completed his postgraduate training in ophthalmology in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, at the Clínica de Olhos do Hospital Felício Rocho, Hospital São Geraldo – UFMG, and Santa Casa – Ciências Médicas.

He is a certified ophthalmology specialist by the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology and pursued advanced training in retinal surgery at Retina Specialists of Boston, USA, at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital (a teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard University). Additionally, he specialized in ophthalmic imaging at the New England Eye Center (Tufts University, USA) and obtained his PhD and postdoctoral degrees in ophthalmology from the University of São Paulo – Ribeirão Preto.

Dr. Siqueira is actively engaged in multiple research lines, focusing on the development of novel treatments for retinal diseases. His work includes intraocular drug delivery systems, stem cell therapy, genetic diagnostics for ocular diseases, and photobiomodulation for retinal disorders. He established the Rubens Siqueira Research Center, dedicated to scientific studies and the development of new therapies for retinal diseases. He is also the author of five ophthalmology books.
