Reminder: 2019 MIPS Deadline Delayed to April 30, 2020
Individuals and Groups With Previously Submitted Partial Data Must Submit Hardship Application if Unable to Meet Deadline
As a reminder, CMS extended the deadline to report 2019 MIPS data to April 30, 2020. If an individual physician does not report data in any category of MIPS by the deadline, CMS will automatically apply the extreme and uncontrollable circumstances hardship exception, ensuring that the physician receives a neutral payment adjustment in 2021.
If you were intending to report as an individual and have not submitted any 2019 data to date and do not intend to, you do not need to take any further action.
If you have submitted some 2019 individual or group data at the TIN level, but cannot submit the rest, apply for the hardship exception by April 30, 2020 to ensure a neutral payment adjustment for 2021.
If you were intending to report as a group, but have not submitted any data to date, CMS will consider all MIPS-eligible members of the TINto be individual reporters and automatically apply the hardship exception.
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Allison Madson, Director of Health Policy.
