Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases at Johns Hokins University, Wilmer Eye Institute (2001). PhD in Clinical Medicine from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2004). Habilitation - Livre-Docencia in Ophthalmology - Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Vitreoretinal Surgery, Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Associate Secretary of Portuguease Language, Panamerican Association of Ophthamology. Secretary , Brazilian Vitreoretinal Society and Panamerican Vitreoretinal Society. The Brazilian Retina and Vitreous Society (SBRV), headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, was founded in 1977 and has grown to 920 members. SBRV’s goal is to promote educational and professional interaction among retina and vitreous specialists by sponsoring meetings and offering support for collaborative scientific research.

Each quarter, the Society publishes The Brazilian Retina and Vitreous Society Journal, which will soon be indexed.
