Biography
Vinnie P. Kathpalia Shah, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training and expertise in diseases of the retina. She delivers the most up to date treatments for conditions such as age related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal vein occlusions. This includes laser treatment and intravitreal injections.
Dr. Shah attended Barnard College and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with distinguished honors in neuroscience and distinction on her senior thesis. She then attended Weill Cornell Medical College and graduated with honors in service and honors in research. After completing an ophthalmology residency at UMDNJ-Rutgers Ophthalmology, Dr. Shah worked as a Clinical Instructor/Attending Ophthalmologist at the New York University School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology where she had the pleasure of teaching ophthalmology residents. Subsequently, she pursued a medical retina fellowship at Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital under the world renowned Dr. Lawrence Yannuzzi and Dr. K. Bailey Freund.
Dr. Shah has been involved in research extensively during her career. She has authored several publications in many peer reviewed scientific journals and has also spoken at many prestigious ophthalmology conferences. Dr. Shah is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Shah is currently in practice at Summit Medical Group in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.
