Biography

Dr Coppola completed both his medical and ophthalmology specialist training at the University of Milan, graduating with honours for both degrees. He worked as a surgeon at the Ophthalmic Department of St. Gerardo Hospital in Milan from 1986 to 2010. During this time, he continued his training in Italy and overseas, which included studying vitreoretinal surgery at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in the US, and corneal surgery at the Universitäts-Augenklinik Bonn in Germany.
From June 1st 2010 to October 31st 2017 , he was director of ophthalmology Department of Desio&Vimercate Hospital (MI), Italy; since November 1st he has been the Director of the Ophthalmology Department of S.Gerardo Hospital in Monza (MI), Italy; since June 2023 he has been the Director of Ophthalmology Department of IRCCS San Gerardo - Monza (Mb), Italy
