Biography

Dr. Daniel Berinstein is a physician with the Retina Group of Washington and an affiliate with the PRISM Vision Group. He currently serves a Medical Director for RGW, Chairs the PRISM Formulary Committee, and a member of the PRISM Clinical Services Committee.

Dr. Berinstein received his Bachelor of Science at Syracuse University and Doctor of Medicine degree at New York Medical College. He completed a residency in Ophthalmology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary—where he served as chief resident and was the recipient of the Louis Girard Research Award. Dr. Berinstein completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital/Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, Michigan. Prior to joining The Retina Group of Washington, he was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Medical Studies at the Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Berinstein is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Georgetown University School of Medicine and is past president of the Washington DC Metropolitan Ophthalmological Society and Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology. He presently serves on the Board at the Ophthalmic Mutual lnsurance Company (OMIC) and a member of its ROP task force.
