Jeffrey Hall and Michael Rosbash, recipients of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Following his undergraduate achievements, Dr. Hall pursued a one-year research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 2002, where he was recognized with multiple academic scholarships. There, he was honored by his peers and faculty as Chief Resident in his final year (2005–2006).

Dr. Hall completed his fellowship in retina surgery at the University of Michigan in 2008. During his fellowship, he earned the distinguished Raymond Margherio Award from the Retina Society for his innovative research into macular diseases and advancements in macular surgery techniques.

Since joining Retina Associates in 2008, Dr. Hall has focused on managing and advancing treatments for macular diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, macular pucker, and macular holes. He has served as a principal or co-investigator in numerous national and international clinical trials targeting “dry” and “wet” age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and uveitis. In June 2024, Dr. Hall and his clinical research team at Retina Associates were recognized as the National Eye Institute-funded DRCR Retina Network’s national site of the month.

Dr. Hall is an active fellow and member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
