Biography

Michael M. Park, MD, is an ophthalmologist, retina specialist & vitreoretinal surgeon. He grew up in New Jersey and completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University where he double majored in Molecular, Cellular Biology as well as Psychology. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Yale University School of Medicine, where he was selected as the Chief Resident. Dr. Park then completed his Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Park has received numerous honors and awards. He was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society at Tufts, and he received the Marvin Sears Award for Clinical Excellence at Yale. He also received the Best Teacher Award at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary for his role in mentoring and teaching residents.

Dr. Park has authored original papers and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology Retina, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Translational Vision Science & Technology, and Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina. He has presented at national and regional meetings including the American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and New England Ophthalmological Society. He has received numerous awards for his research on age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, sickle cell retinopathy, and ophthalmic imaging.

Dr. Park is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO).

He enjoys golf, tennis, and traveling when not caring for his patients. Dr. Park is fluent in English, Korean, and conversational in Spanish.
