Biography

Wei “Wayne” Gui, MD is a vitreoretinal specialist and surgeon in private practice in Irvine, CA who strives to improve the lives of patients with vitreoretinal diseases with compassion, utilizing the most advanced medical and surgical therapies. He is humbled to be entrusted with taking care of patients’ vision and aims to treat each and every patient like a member of his own family.

Growing up in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada, Dr. Gui had the privilege to interact with people from all walks of life. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science and Highest Honors in Research from Cornell University and received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Gui completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.

Outside of the clinic and operating room, Dr. Gui enjoys playing basketball and tennis and loves traveling, photography, and spending time with his wife and family. He is fluent in Mandarin as a foreign language.
