Biography
Andrew Moshfeghi, MD, MBA is a nationally recognized ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon who serves as Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Medical Director, and Director of the Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine's USC Roski Eye Institute. Dr. Moshfeghi is the Director of the Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship Programs at USC Roski Eye Institute. He formerly served on the faculty at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and as the Medical Director at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach and as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School Of Medicine. While at the University of Miami, Dr. Moshfeghi was the Director of the Bascom Palmer Surgery Center and Director of the Ophthalmic Telemedicine Program. Dr. Moshfeghi received his MBA with an emphasis on Health Sector Policy and Administration from the University of Miami.
In addition to having published more than 70 scientific papers and book chapters in the field, Dr. Moshfeghi serves on the editorial board of several scientific journals that specialize in vitreoretinal surgery and macular diseases.
Dr. Moshfeghi is recognized as a pioneer in the development of intravitreal pharmacotherapy for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration and has been honored with numerous awards for his accomplishments.
He is a frequent invited lecturer at national and international scientific symposia. In addition to receiving the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, Best Doctors in America Award, Castle-Connolly Top Doctors Award, he also received the prestigious Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Foundation Award.
Dr. Moshfeghi and his wife, Arlanna, who is a pediatric ophthalmologist, live in Pasadena, CA with their two children.
