Biography
Ramana S. Moorthy (Bob) completed his medical education, surgical internship, and Ophthalmology residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is fellowship-trained in uveitis under Dr. Narsing A. Rao and Dr. Ronald E. Smith at the Doheny Eye Institute/USC-LACounty Medical Center and completed a 2 year retina fellowship at Northwestern University under Dr. Lee M. Jampol. He has been a practicing retinal and uveitis specialist in Indianapolis for 29 years. He is the founding partner of Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants. He is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Indiana University Medical Center where he also served as the Director of the Uveitis Service at the Eskenazi Eye Clinic for 17 years. He has authored over 100 peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and monographs. His research interests include refillable intraocular drug delivery devices, ophthalmic imaging, infectious and drug-induced uveitis, and the role of CD34 progenitor cells in controlling retinal microvascular damage.
