Biography
Somdutt Prasad MS FRCSEd FRCOphth FACS, CCST, AMRI Medical Centre & Fortis Medical Centre, Kolkata, India
Dr Prasad initially trained in India at the University of Calcutta, followed by further specialist training in the UK in a range of units including Dorchester, Oxford, Wirral & Sheffield . His clinical interests include cataract surgery and vitreo-retinal surgery. He regularly lectures & instructs at local and international level. He has over 70 publications and 100 presentations to his credit. In 2008 he was conferred a Fellowship of the American College Surgeons. Amongst his honours are an Achievement award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and an Honors Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists. He has served on The Scientific Committee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and co-chaired the Retina day programme for the Royal College. He is now based in Kolkata, India.
