Biography
Zujaja Tauqeer, MD, DPhil is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained surgeon at Cincinnati Eye Institute, one of the premier eye care practices in the country, and at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, one of the top children's hospitals in America. She treats adult and pediatric patients with retinal diseases, complications from intraocular surgery, and ocular trauma.
Hailing from New York City, Dr. Tauqeer was a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford in England where she completed her doctorate in History of Medicine and then received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School with a merit scholarship for her work.
After completing her ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, she trained in adult and pediatric vitreoretinal surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants/Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. She was selected nationally as a Heed Fellow, one of the most prestigious honors given to those who are pursuing academic careers in ophthalmic patient care, education, and research.
Dr. Tauqeer is involved in clinical research and academic teaching, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
