Biography
Ahmed A. Sallam, M.D., Ph.D., FRCOphth is an ophthalmologist at the Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). He specializes in the management of uveitis and vitreoretinal disorders. In addition to his clinical duties and research activities,
Active in educational speaking, training and research, Dr. Sallam authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, presented at ophthalmology conferences and meetings, and has been an investigator on numerous uveitis and retinal studies.
Dr. Sallam has a special interest in medical education and has received a certificate from the University of Bristol, UK in this field. He has been an educator and a trainer for residents and fellows in both UK and US and has been instrumental in refining techniques for surgical ocular simulation.
