ASRS 32nd Annual Meeting Interview – Robert C. Andrew Symons, MBBS, PhD, FRANZCO, on Using Adaptive Optics to Image Macular Blood Flow
Sunir Garg, MD, interviews Robert C. Andrew Symons, MBBS, PhD, FRANZCO, about Dr. Symons’ research using high-speed adaptive-optics to image macular blood flow. By using this very high-speed imaging, Symons is able to capture images not often seen with adpative optics, such as red blood cells moving through the blood vessles.
The purpose of Dr. Symons’ study was to measure erythrocyte flow in human macular vasculature and to determine network characteristics and investigate neuro-regulatory control of flow dynamics.
