2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule Expected Soon
ASRS is currently awaiting the release of the 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule. The proposed rule will include CMS’ proposals for the coming year related to physician payment and the Quality Payment Program (QPP). CMS is expected to propose further changes to the current 2020 QPP program year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and may further address E/M code updates. In addition, the proposed rule is expected to address other issues related to the public health emergency, such as a permanent extension of some telemedicine regulations. The 2021 Hospital Outpatient and ASC proposed rule is also expected to be released in the coming days. ASRS will alert members when the MPFS rule is available.
