Larry Hester is the seventh person in the US to have the Argus II Retinal Prosthesis Device – the bionic eye – implanted. This device was developed by Mark S. Humayun, MD, PhD, with Keck School of Medicine/University of Southern California, and implanted by Paul Hahn, MD, PhD, with the Duke Eye Center.
Watch Larry as his sight is restored for the first time in 33 years thanks to the combined efforts of these two ASRS members.
