Bonjour!

I am Audina M. Berrocal, MD, FASRS, Program Chair for the 44ᵉ Réunion Scientifique of the American Society of Retina Specialists in spectacular Montréal, Canada, July 15–18, 2026. I hope you will mark your calendar and register now to join your colleagues from around the world at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal for retina’s flagship scientific meeting.

Our magnificent host city blends European charm and énergie modern (modern energy), offering a truly inspiring environment for discovery and connection. This year’s programme scientifique (scientific program) will build on the successes of past gatherings, including rapid-fire talks, longer discussion periods, and an emphasis on practical treatment modalities that can be quickly implemented into practice. We will also continue our special focus on investigator-led research, novel surgical ideas, techniques, and instrumentation. We encourage first-time presenters and international members to submit their studies as we strive to showcase the talents of our diverse global retina community.

The meeting will kick off at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15 with La Chirurgie Rétinienne à Travers le Monde! (Retina Surgery Around the World)— featuring teams of the world’s top surgeons from different continents weighing in on surgical techniques and technologies used across the globe.

Later, join us for Le Cirque des Complications (The Circus of Complications) where experts will debate surgical approaches to complicated cases submitted by ASRS Early Career Section members. These events will be followed by our Conférence des Cas Médico-Chirurgicaux (the Medical and Surgical Case Conferences).

The Hall d’Exposition (Exhibit Hall) will open midday on Wednesday. You’ll enter through a spectacular immersive hallway to experience the energy of retina innovation, with companies presenting state-of-the-art products and technologies.

The very popular Espace Expérience (Experience Center) returns — expanded to offer even more opportunities for you and your colleagues to enjoy apprentissage interactif (interactive learning).

The Hall d’Exposition (Exhibit Hall) will also showcase this year’s Festival du Film (Film Festival), as well as Interviews en Direct (interviews)with experts for the JVRD Author’s Forum Podcast, Actualités du Terrain (Updates From the Field) and l’Histoire de la Rétine (History of Retina). As you know, connexion (connection) is the cornerstone of every ASRS gathering, and this year’s social events will certainly deliver. ASRS Montréal will be a meeting to remember!

Join us Wednesday evening for our Réception d’Ouverture (Opening Reception) at the Grand Quai Pavilion, where panoramic views of Montréal’s sparkling waterfront set the scene for lively conversation, new connections, and excitement for the meeting ahead. Our time together will culminate with a memorable Réception de Clôture (Closing Reception) at the iconic Marché Bonsecours, where you and your friends will enjoy an evening surrounded by the rich history and architectural splendor of Vieux-Montréal (Old Montréal). As always, social events will require separate tickets from general meeting registration. You will be prompted to register for these events during your meeting registration. The deadline for social event registration is June 11th -- or when events sell out. As a reminder, only ASRS members are permitted to register guests. I assure you, these soirées (evening parties) will be inoubliables (unforgettable)!

Be sure to build in time to explore Montréal with friends and/or family. From world-famous festivals and vibrant nightlife to historic cobblestone streets and unforgettable cuisine, the city simply buzzes with culture, créativité et chaleur (creativity and warmth).
